About Anna Carter

Anna Carter was born in the West Country and educated in a Dorset Covent. From an early age she had a passion for art and sculpting - greatly encouraged by her father who was himself a talented musician and artist. He instilled solid values in Anna, such as "self praise is no recommendation" and consequently Anna is a modest, private person. She now lives in a cottage in the Cotswolds with her husband and is a real nature lover.

Anna's first dolls were created initially using felt worked over an armature plus a variety of mediums such as Fimo, air drying clay and papier-mache. She then discovered polymer clay, in particular Cernit and soon moved on to her great passion - Babies! Anna specialises in little newborns and the skilful way that she introduces blemishes to eyelids and chins shows her attention to the tiniest detail attributed to a newborn child.

Two years ago the famous German firm - Sigikid - commissioned Anna to produce The Dream Boys vinyl range - a series of cute little boys dressed in old-fashioned clothes with their own suitcases, which sold out of editions.

There have been various feature articles appearing in the DOLL magazine about Anna Carter Babies, the most recent of which appeared in the December 2003 issue No 74, preceded by May 2003, issue No 67.

Anna's babies are sold throughout the world and their ever growing popularity is confirmed by the fact that her Collectors cannot wait to adopt another of her new-life creations.
