From Ann: To all of my friends and customers, we welcome back Marita, a special artist that has extra special sculpting abilities. From the first time we saw her little babies we knew her talent was very, very special. The fine detail of these babies is done to the finest degree. The proportion of all the parts of the whole baby is perfect. Marita is truly a special artist and she creates very special little babies for our collectors to enjoy. We hope you find her art as special as we do. News, 11/6/08 Today we announce the adoption of one of Marita's little babies. Kylee No. 5 has been adopted by a very special customer. She is so excited about getting this special little baby! If your heart talks to you about one the the new Marita Winters babies, call Ann now! I can personally say that these little babies are the most precious ones you will ever see. We have Alex and two versions of Kylee. These are resin babies and they are limited to only 10 each worldwide! Please take a close look at them and call me. Ann
The Resin Babies Alex and Kylee are limited editions of 10 each (worldwide) created in resin from original clay sculpts by Marita. Each resin baby is meticulously hand-molded and poured one at a time by a master mold maker in high quality art resin. They are then sent back to Marita who hand paints each tiny detail, sets the eyes in the open eyed babies, and adds the hair and styles it. When this is all finished, a Barb Gerde outtfit is chosen to complete each baby's personality.

A standard
of practicality and good sense, a critical eye for detail, and a very talented
artistic touch are all reflected in the work of American-born sculptor, Marita (Trosen)
Winters. From her first high school art classes in her small home town of Cass
Lake, Minnesota, through her studies in Commercial Art at the College of DuPage
in Illinois, Marita’s creative talent has been noted in her painting and
sculpting. Marita worked as a
free-lance artist for over two decades in advertising design, and eventually
founded and operated a graphic design company with her husband, Monty. In recent
years, her work has focused on creating one-of-a-kind dolls. Each baby is
lovingly sculpted by hand from Prosculpt clay, wigged, baked, sanded, painted, and finished by the
artist herself. Her unique assembly process results in incredibly lifelike
poses. In most cases, Marita also creates and sews the outfits and accessories!
Her dolls have been praised for their accurate proportions, the realistic
appearance of their skin and their detailed features.
